Buying Answers:
Is Zephyr free? Opensource?
Zephyr is licensed software that is either downloaded and installed in-house on your system or hosted in the Amazon Cloud. We might be running promotions that might offer free licenses from time to time. Zephyr is not an open source project.
Do you have a hosted version of Zephyr?
Yes - we offer both a hosted SaaS version as well as a on-premises version. The features and functionality of both is the same.
How much does Zephyr cost?
Zephyr has a simple licensing model based on the number of users. Each user license costs $65/month. You can buy several months at a time or yearly. After the base set of licenses you can ramp up additional licenses monthly. All licenses come with Basic Support (email, online) and Software Maintenance.
How do I buy Zephyr licenses?
You can request a Quote by filling in the form above or emailing us at sales@getzephyr.com. A Quote/Invoice will be emailed to you. You can also call us at +1-408-524-1570 and a Salesperson will walk you through the process. Once payments have been confirmed, download and licenses files or your SaaS instance will be made available to you.
What are my payment options?
We accept payments in the following ways:
a. Credit Card (Visa, Mastercard, Amex) via phone/fax
b. Mailed Check
c. Direct Bank Transfer
d. PayPal
More details can be found in the Quote/Invoice emailed to you. Terms are Net-0 i.e. we will only provide license files after your payment is confirmed.
What currencies do you support?
Currently, we only support USD.
Do you support Purchase Orders?
Sure. Please send us your Purchase Order via email (sales@getzephyr.com) or fax (+1-309-415-0663) and we'll reference that in the Quote/Invoice sent to you. Do note however that we do not accept Purchase Orders as a form of payment. Software and licenses will be provided only after complete payment is received.
Do you give Volume Discounts?
We offer attractive discounts for volume purchases. Please contact Sales (sales@getzephyr.com)
How is Zephyr distributed? Downloads? CD-ROMs?
Zephyr on-premises is available via online download from our servers. We do not provide a CD-ROM version. If you have trouble downloading the file, please contact support (support@getzephyr.com).
After my payment is made, when will I get the product and license keys?
On-premises
Within 24 hours. An email will be sent to you with download instructions and the license file.
SaaS
Within 24 hours. An email will be sent requesting all the information needed to provision your instance. The instance will be available within 24 hours after we receive your answers.
Once I receive the license file, do I need to reinstall the on-premises software?
No. You will just have to copy the new license file into the appropriate directory and restart the server. If there is a newer version of the software available, you may want to upgrade.
Do you offer refunds if we are not happy with the product?
Sorry but we do not. We provide a fully functioning Zephyr trial, either SaaS or on-premises, which will give you ample opportunities to try out and experience Zephyr before you make a decision to buy.
How do I ramp users up and down?
You can buy any number of licenses for a period of time (several months, annually, multi-year). You can ramp up the number of licenses anytime during this period. This is best understood with these examples:
Scenario 1: You have 5 paid licenses for 12 months starting Jan 1st. You then need 8 additional licenses for 2 months on March 1st. You would just purchase 8 additional licenses for 2 months (8*2*$65). On May 1st your additional 8 licenses would expire. The user data however remains in Zephyr and you just need to disable the users. If in July you need an additional five licenses you would just purchase 5 licenses for one month (5*1*$65). You only pay for what you need.
Scenario 2: You have 3 free licenses for 12 months starting Jan 1st. You then buy 5 licenses for 3 months starting March 1st. You will now have 8 licenses until May 31st and on June 1st, you'll go back to 3 licenses all the way to December 31st.

Support and Maintenance Answers
Is Support included in my license cost?
Yes for both versions, basic support that includes email, community and web support is included.
What do I get if I buy Enhanced Support?
Enhanced Support gets you phone support and training and additional TLC.
How do software maintenance/upgrades work?
On-Premise
Your installed version of Zephyr checks for upgrades and informs you when one becomes available. You can then visit our website to download an upgrade following the upgrade instructions.

We will notify you when a new version upgrade is planned

Can I use Zephyr for my customer projects/engagements?
Absolutely! We have designed Zephyr both from a product and licensing standpoint to encourage you to deliver greater value to your customers.
How does licensing work in this case?
The same simplified licensing model applies in this case too. You buy the number of user licenses you need for the length of your customer engagement and this way only pay for what you use. Ideally, you set up one copy of Zephyr per customer so that data for them remains secure. Please note that free user licenses promotions do not apply for customer engagements. You will need to buy licenses if you plan to use Zephyr for this purpose.
